NOMINATED: JAM Hair Salon in Croydon are among those shortlisted for the Croydon Business Awards
How exciting that I have been chosen as a finalist in //croydonbusinessawards.co.uk/finalists-2013/ in the category of The FSB Real Life Entrepreneur 2013.
Hundreds of entries were received for the nine categories, with a panel of independent judges whittling the entries down to 41 finalists.
I have my interview with the judges coming up and I must admit, I would really like this title!
Here is a short version of my story
I bought my salon JAM HAIR Sanderstead in Dec 2006, very naive and excited about being a fully fledged business owner.
2007 Tough times! I had no idea how much I had to learn, how hard it would be and the way it affected my family life, but I stayed positive and got through it.
2008 Embarked on business courses and coaches to grow myself and move the business forward.
2009 As social media began to grow, I was getting a real taste how this could grow my business, for marketing and the realisation of working on the business and not in the business.
2010 Started to get my dream team together and really enjoying how my business was progressing all my hard work was paying off
2011 Salon was totally refurbished and the business taking a a turn in a very good direction.
2012 Won Salon of the Year at the English Hair Awards! and Croydon’s most loved business sponsored by The Best of Croydon
2013 Finalist in the English Hair Awards and finalist in The Croydon Business Awards for the fsb real life entrepreneur.
