JAM HAIR, Croydon commended in the ‘Best Small Business Category’ at the Croydon Business Awards 2014
A gala dinner and awards ceremony was held at Fairfield Halls on 15th May 2014 and all the Croydon finalists and sponsors were invited to the Gala.
I took my receptionist Alex with me for support and we bumped into lots of customers and business owners that I have met over the years, which was great fun especially cheering them all on to win.
We had a table right at the back of the room which at first we thought oh no, but as we got talking to the other finalists on our table we soon realised that this had no reflection on whether we would win or not. The guy next to me Byron Cole from BLC Group had won 2 awards last year and was sitting at the back table last year too.
We was the first award to be called out and to our excitement we came 3rd and was commended as small business of the year, A great achievement for little ole me. White Label consultants were highly commended and J’aimies Gymnastics Academy won this category which was absolutely deserved. Their company is great.
At last years Croydon business awards I was a finalist in Entrepreneur category in which I was commended. This year I entered two categories, Entrepreneur and Small Business of the Year. I really wanted to win the small business award as it’s more about the salon and my team, but im still so pleased to have been in the top three and being commended. Hopefully 2015 will be my year, fingers crossed.
We must of the on the lucky table on Thursday night as nearly everyone on our table won an award. Kate Ward from Chequers contracts Services won 3 awards including the big one “Business of the year “. I hadn’t’ met her before but funnily enough my husband Darren does a lot of Roofing work for Chequers, its such a small world. It was lovely to see the shock and delight on their faces when they picked up all 3 awards.
Congratulations to all the Winners, see you all next year. x
